What is Counselling and How can it Help?

Counselling offers an opportunity to speak about whatever is on your mind and to unpick the emotions and feelings that are coming up. It is an opportunity to be completely honest. In return, you will be met with complete, nonjudgmental, compassionate honesty, with no fear of saying the wrong thing or being unable to say how you feel. Only when we can be honest can we truly understand where our struggles are coming from and work out how to address them.

My approach involves offering Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, as well as counselling. Together, we will determine the most suitable approach for you, ensuring you feel empowered and involved in your healing process.

Young People and Teens

When I work with young people and teens, I like to create a relaxed, easy place for them to speak about whatever might be on their minds, helping them make sense of what they are feeling and experiencing.  It’s very important that they trust in the created space, where they can off-load and feel whatever they are feeling.  I’m not there to ‘tell’ them what they should be doing but to allow them to explore their feelings and understand how they might move forward.
